Jiyuan Iron & Steel Group’s premium high-speed wire rod production line boasts an annual capacity of 700,000 tons. Key technology and core process equipment for the high-speed section were designed and supplied by Morgan (USA), while the complete line’s automation and drive systems were designed and integrated by ABB. This configuration provides strong market competitiveness in product quality, performance, and cost.
The line incorporates internationally advanced and proven production technologies and equipment. It achieves a maximum guaranteed finishing speed of 112 m/s and utilizes processes such as hot charging and direct rolling, along with the world-advanced “8+4” finishing block configuration. This enables the implementation of thermomechanical rolling process technology, full-line digital control, online sizing measurement, controlled rolling and cooling throughout the process, and online HotEye thermal imaging-based surface quality inspection.
The produced wire rod features a uniform internal structure, with a grain size difference of less than 1 grade across the cross-section, consistent properties along the entire length, and minimal iron oxide scale.
